I've spent a lifetime thinking about why people do what they do, and although I've got no authority to tell anybody else to believe it, I think I've got a few pretty solid ideas on what makes us tick. These podcasts were recording on a very long drive, and as I was alone in the car there was no way to double-check things or pull up references... so these are just thoughts. It's a complicated one, this one. The core idea here is one of polarizing complicated issues and believing they can be solved with simple solutions, but this short rant runs through a mess of complicated issues to look at it.
